Myla — AI learning companion for children
Problem
As a co-founder with two friends, built an AI-assisted learning app for children — native on iOS and Android plus a web portal for schools.
Solution
Full technical ownership: React Native app, Firebase backend, AI integration for individualized learning, Next.js school portal.
Outcome
App live in the stores, school portal in use. The founding experience feeds directly into my freelance work and product development.
Mobile architecture
BAG Glossary — Offline-first app
Problem
A fully offline-capable glossary app with thousands of bilingual audio entries. Initial dataset size (~400 MB) exceeded Android bundle limits.
Solution
Analyzed audio compression strategy and reduced bitrate from 192 to 48 kbps — without audible quality loss. Implemented offline-first data handling with Expo.
Outcome
App size halved to ~200 MB. Successful store release on iOS and Android. Full offline availability for all users.

White-label CMS platform
Problem
Taking over from the lead developer of a multi-tenant CMS platform. Multiple customer domains needed independent deployments with consistent architecture.
Solution
Blueprint-based Docker images for standardized deployments. AWS ECS/Fargate task definitions. Multi-instance theming and custom content modules for ApostropheCMS.
Outcome
Four production instances deployed successfully. Faster setup for new customers. Stable handover after a key-developer transition.

Polliquest — Mobile-first survey platform
Problem
A configurable survey platform for education. Challenge: mobile-first with voice input and 1,500–2,500 concurrent participants per survey.
Solution
Mobile-first frontend with Next.js. Integration with a legacy PHP API. Voice input and audio playback for accessibility. Reporting dashboard for aggregated results.
Outcome
Used successfully in real school operations. Stable performance with thousands of concurrent interactions. Improved accessibility through voice.
